Epic Browser - The First Indian Web Browser

Epic Browser is being called the first Indian web browser which is developed by Indian developers (Hidden Reflex) and specially designed for the Indian users. It is also the first web browser in the world, which comes with integrated antivirus support. This browser was launched on 15th July, 2010 for Windows Operating Systems. After exploring it, I found that it has the potential to become popular among the Indian users.

Let us go through the key features...

 1. Epic Browser is powered by Mozilla and the interface has a quite similarity with Mozilla Firefox. All Firefox add-ons are also compatible with this browser.

2. Epic comes with a sidebar which contains Epic Applications. Those applications include social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Orkut etc), email (Gmail, Yahoo! etc), news, word-processor, snippet tool, to-do list, file explorer, timer, video player, games, maps and a lot more. And more apps can be added from repository.

3. Epic has integrated regional language support. At this moment 12 Indian languages are supported. Those are Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Nepali, Punjabi, Urdu, Gujrati, Tamil, Telegu, Malayalam, Kannada and Sanskrit.

4. Epic provides maximum security as a web browser. It offers built-in antivirus scanner powered by eset, malicious website warnings powered by WOT and anti-phishing protection.

5. Epic offers you 1500+ Indian themes and wallpapers for the browser. By any chance, if you are not happy with them, you can wear a Firefox persona or apply a custom theme or wallpaper.

6. Epic browser also takes care of user-privacy. To enter the private browsing mode or to delete private data you just need one click.

7. Epic is also claimed to be tweaked for faster browsing and downloads.
